All acting classes are led by St. Stephen’s Theatre Focus faculty. The teachers create process oriented classes with an emphasis on technique, styles, and methods.

PERFORMANCE STYLES – Explore three theatrical eras by performing material within its historical context.

ACTING METHODS – Study a number of significant acting methods (i.e. Meisner, Stanislavsky, Strasberg, Hagen) and put them to practical use.

IMPROVISATION – Develop techniques of improvisation which can be used in character exploration. Learn to think on your feet, make bold choices and practice creative collaboration with fellow performers.

AUDITIONING – Examine techniques and gather repertoire and preparation for college and stock auditions.

VOICE/MOVEMENT – Strengthen vocal and physical skills through release of tension, posture, vocal exercises and muscle extension. Examine various techniques for body/voice training to expand your physical and vocal capabilities.

FILM ACTING – Use scenes from films to explore techniques for acting on camera.
