All acting classes are led by St. Stephen’s Theatre
Focus faculty. The teachers create process oriented classes
with an emphasis on technique, styles, and methods.
PERFORMANCE STYLES – Explore three
theatrical eras by performing material within its historical
context.
ACTING METHODS – Study a number of
significant acting methods (i.e. Meisner, Stanislavsky, Strasberg,
Hagen) and put them to practical use.
IMPROVISATION – Develop techniques
of improvisation which can be used in character exploration.
Learn to think on your feet, make bold choices and practice
creative collaboration with fellow performers.
AUDITIONING – Examine techniques and
gather repertoire and preparation for college and stock auditions.
VOICE/MOVEMENT – Strengthen vocal
and physical skills through release of tension, posture, vocal
exercises and muscle extension. Examine various techniques
for body/voice training to expand your physical and vocal
capabilities.
FILM ACTING – Use scenes from films
to explore techniques for acting on camera.
