The Dance program is conducted by Austin’s own Tapestry
Dance Company. Classes are divided into two levels and students
will be placed on the first camp day. To major in Dance at
TAP 2003, students must have at least 3 years experience.
BALLET - Focus on expressive dancing and
improving musicality and technique. Gain knowledge of injury
prevention and practice safe movement patterns.
JAZZ - Study movement based on body part
isolations, sequential movement, turns and jumps. Develop
strong lines, technique and an understanding of the body’s
center of movement.
RHYTHM TAP - Examine basic exercises, precision,
coordination and strong rhythmic tap skills. Emphasis is placed
on musicality, relaxation and individuality.
MODERN - Develop flexibility, strength and
fluidity and a growing awareness of breath and space.
HIP-HOP - Enhance knowledge of this popular
high energy, fast paced dance form.
