The three main airlines that fly into Denver with the most regularity are United, Continental, and American. You can also fly directly into Hayden (Steamboat) via Denver on a puddle jumper. Sometimes better deals can be found through regional carriers listed below depending on where you are flying in from. Unless you are using airline miles, you will find the best deals through Orbitz and Travelocity.

American Airlines

One thing to keep in mind, American is famous for make you stop in Chicago or Dallas no matter where you are coming from. Unless you just have to fly the friendly skies, you should be able to find a direct flight on another airline into Denver.

AmericaWest

Guests flying from Houston that don’t have a prior allegiance to Continental might want to check out AmericaWest, who offers some very competitive deals into Denver.

Continental Airlines

The average price for a flight from Houston (IAH) to Denver (DEN) is around $300. Continental has also started offering direct flights into Hayden from Houston for around $400.

Frontier Airlines

For guests traveling from New York City, Frontier is offering a great deal ($227 round trip) with flexible departure and return times.   

JetBlue

United Airlines

United operates a major hub out of Denver so those traveling from larger cities where United has any kind of presence should be able to find a round trip flight to Denver for under $300. 

For those that would rather fly right into Steamboat, United also offers daily service from Denver (DIA) into Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN), which is a 20 mile drive from the town of Hayden into Steamboat. This extra leg will be an expensive convenience, however. Alpine Taxi offers regular shuttle transport between Hayden and Steamboat for $44 round trip or $27 each way.

Alpine Taxi offers regular shuttle service from Denver to Steamboat for $130 per adult round trip. Over 65 and Under 12 ride half price; 5 and under rides free. The drive takes approx. 3-4 hours.

For parties of two or more, private shuttle is the way to go. Up to five people can be shuttled round trip from Denver to Steamboat and back for $260; 7 people ($300), 10 people ($415), 15 people ($525). If you are meeting friends or family in Denver, you may want to coordinate so your flights arrive at a similar time and book a private shuttle together.

While in Steamboat, 24/7 taxi service is available for $2/mile and $2 per person. Consider the fact that Steamboat Springs proper is no more than a few miles long tip to tail when deciding whether to rent a car. We will provide shuttle service through Alpine Taxi to the East Meets West BBQ on Thursday, wedding ceremony, and reception.

DRIVING THERE

Driving from Denver

From DIA, follow signs to I-70 West from Pena Boulevard (West). Follow I-70 approximately 1.5 hours and exit at Silverthorne (after the Eisenhower Tunnel there will be signs for Steamboat). Turn right off the ramp onto Route 9 and follow for approximately 40 minutes. At the stop sign in Kremmling, turn left onto Highway 40 West, go over Rabbit Ears Pass (watch for speed traps), and follow straight into Steamboat (roughly 50 minutes from Kremmling).

Driving from Hayden
 
Turn right out of the airport and follow to stop sign. Turn right on Highway 40 East and follow directly to Steamboat (about 25 minutes).
